Fizzling Goals but I want them to Sparkle

Are you tired of setting big, bold, and totally unrealistic goals for yourself, only to watch them fizzle out faster than a sparkler on a rainy day?

Well, you’re not alone, my friend! It turns out that the road to building lasting habits and achieving our wildest dreams is a little more bumpy than we may have initially thought.

Let’s face it, we’ve all been there. We decide that we’re going to wake up at 5am every day, run a marathon, and only eat kale. And while that sounds great in theory, in practice, it’s about as realistic as a unicorn giving birth to a yeti.

The problem with setting unrealistic goals is that they’re like trying to climb Mount Everest in flip-flops. Sure, you might make it to base camp, but you’re gonna have a pretty rough time getting to the top. And let’s be real, you’re probably going to end up with some serious blisters.

Building new habits is like trying to potty train a toddler. You think you’ve got it under control and then boom! Your little angel smears poop all over the wall. It’s a never-ending battle of willpower, patience, and the occasional bribe (chocolate works wonders, just saying).

But don’t despair! The key is to start small and build up gradually. Just like training for a marathon, you’re not going to run 26.2 miles on your first day. You’ll start with a mile, and work your way up.

So, when it comes to building new habits, think of it like a staircase. You start at the bottom, take one step at a time, and eventually, you’ll reach the top. And the best part? There are no yetis or poop smears at the top, just the satisfaction of knowing you did it!

Let’s break it down people. The key to building lasting habits and achieving your goals is to set realistic expectations for yourself. Don’t try to run a marathon on day one, or train your toddler to do their business in the toilet without any accidents. Take it one step at a time, and remember to have a sense of humor about the process.

So, keep on climbing that staircase, and don’t forget to enjoy the journey. Remember, you’re a superhero in the making, whether you’re trying to run a marathon or just trying to wake up before noon.

You got this!
